And so, as days start to blend into each other I'm beginning to realise there isn't all that much time until I leave. I have an appointment to get some vaccinations tomorrow (hooray!) but which I fear shall be costing me an exorbitant amount of money for what seems no reward (shitballs). I've been contemplating what bag I should take on my travels and whether or not I shall need to buy one. I don't want a big bag. I don't really need that much stuff. At all. And I have a very reasonably sized red bag from  my father's childhood which would really do the job. But it's topfill. I want one of those ones where you zip along the front and you can see all your stuff and you don't have to drag everything out every time you want something. But that would require expenditure of money that I really, really need. So I should probably just make do.
It's also just struck me that it will potentially be quite cool in the mountains and I will thus need to take warm clothing. Now, I'm a reasonable being, but in camping/tramping/roughing-it world the ideal warmth keeper is one of those rough as wind cheater (cheeter? sheeter? whatevs.) things with that fluffy shit on the inside with a zip attachable hood and lightweight, quickdry features. Fuck off. No way will you catch me dead wearing one of those things, all respect to those that stick to the protocols of reason and common sense and throw fashion to the wind, but I fucking hate them. I would rather get about in a faux (I hate that word) fur (and that one) onesie (I love that one). Yeah that's right, I just went there. But what is my equally warm yet slightly more aesthetically bearable alternative? I don't want to take massive knit jumpers as they take up too much weight and space, I don't want to take a leather jacket or anything because not only will I look like a massive dick wearing one in India but they too take up to much space and weight. What the monkey nuts do I do?

As to the present, I have established (am in the process really) of establishing a vege patch. I love it. Not only does it take heaps of time but it makes me feel all nice and gardeny. I have lots of work this week which is grand, and hopefully even more after that. I recently purchased a long sleeve merino wool thermal top which was exciting! And have been looking into insurance as well. I am thoroughly on my way to being ready and I'm rather darn excited.
